Bond hit the new bottom (Skyfall, spoilers)

I can say to myself, I’ve told you so. I don’t like Craigas a Bond, I simply hate this ladyas M, but I’ve still watched new ones as it was good fun. And I like to relax from time to time. Comparing to old ones everything was worse, even girls, but it was watchable. What they’ve done in Skyfallis simply ridiculous. Bond is shot in the first minutes of the movie, falls into the river and we’re expected to believe that he’s dead.

I would not follow The Following

Fox started the new year with the new show, The Following. As I enjoy watching thrillers I’ve had to check it out. Especially that a lot of people on the Web recommended it. Yeah, I know, it means nothing. Anyway, I’ve got through first episode and it wasn’t bad. Nothing new, nothing brilliant, but decent. It had this typical for American television patronizing style. Characters are constantly explaining each detail of the story, so even half-brain could catch up.

It would be better if more real (Sinister, spoiler alert)

The last few years were really bad for horror movies. There was almost nothing good. As I love the genre I’m always trying to catch every piece of good film I’m able to find. So I’ve watched Sinisterrecently and must say it was quite alright. I believe my judgement is blurred by lack of any alternative. The latest horror I’ve seen was the one with Mr. Potterand I really want to forget about this waste of time.

From wimp to motherf... (Killer Joe) (Spoilers)

For a long time Matthew McConaugheywas for me symbol of wimp, the actor who can play action hero only for women audience, love boy. I’ve thought the same about Ben Affleckand I’ve changed my mind, but it’s subject for another post. Now I’ve changed my mind about Mr. McConaughey. It started with The Lincoln Lawyerwhich was good movie, but still not it. But after seeing “Killer Joe” I can honestly say that he’s the man.

Show me tits and I'll give you high score (The Cabin in the Woods)

I was really looking forward to see The Cabin in the Woods, but when I’ve finally did I was disappointed. The scenario is such a piece of crap that I can’t imagine how somebody could approve production. We have ancient evil god who needs to receive human blood sacrifices from five people, so group (I wonder who was financing them as they seemed to have endless funds) devoted to keep evil out of the world has made some kind of computer-altered environment (rip off from Hunger Games) and are luring innocent people there.

Prometheus, small disappointment (spoilers)

I saw Prometheusthe other day and I must say that it was disappointment. Don’t take me wrong, movie is good, it’s beautiful. However you can for sure save some money and go to 2D version, 3D is lame in this picture. By all means this movie was made correct, what’s not surprising as mister Scottis experienced director and for sure has no problems gaining funds. But correct is not enough in this case.

Good beginning, the middle, but the end... (Hunger Games, possible spoilers)

At first I must admit that I haven’t read the book. I wanted to as it was recommended by a lot of people whose opinion I value. But the way it’s written is not acceptable for me. Narration is in first person in present time. I’ve considered audiobook for a while, but decided that I even can’t listen to it. Anyway, to my rescue movie was released. I don’t know how much it’s basing on book, but I believe it’s pretty much it.

Book or movie

Recently my favorite book portal (Polish)posted on their Facebook page a question. “Do you prefer to read book first, or maybe watch movie adaptation?”. That made me thinking and my post would be a reply to that question. I always prefer book, as movie adaptation is always worse. You simply can’t contain 300 pages in 90 minutes, it’s impossible. Something would always be cut. Not to mention that movies often have really invasive producers with their “excellent” ideas how to make particular scene, or entire movie, better.

New is good, but old still better

Few days ago I’ve watched Arthur. As for modern comedy (they’re not making good comedies anymore) it was quite entertaining. I was actually pretty surprised because I don’t like Russell Brand, but in this movie he was quite good. Maybe because he is so similar to character he’s playing, so he wasn’t playing a lot. However I wonder how much of his IRL behavior, which is quite extravagant, is real. Anyway, this picture is entertaining and I don’t feel that I’ve wasted my time watching it, but original Arthurwas better.

Do you want to work for Dwight?

I’m following Rainn Wilson(more known as Dwight Schrute) on Twitterand today I’ve read this post: I wonder what type of boss he would be (as I live on earth for some time already, I know that not always the one who is funny man is also funny as a boss, sometimes it’s quite opposite). Would you like to work for Dwight? Well, maybe you’ll be able to see some of his crazy actions IRL:)
