Motorola has lame software update process

I’m happy owner of Motorola Defy Android phone. It’s great, the best phone after IPhone I’ve ever had. I like almost everything in it, but definitely not Motorola Software Update. It’s software for updating phone’s system. I know that there is such option in phone itself, but for unknown reason it can’t connect with update server. So I’ve downloaded special software for my PC to update my phone from it. Usage is simple, launch the app, connect your phone to PC via USB, click next to check for the updates.

Security breach at GoGrid?

On Monday I’ve received a call from my bank with information that my credit card details were stolen by third party, so they’ve blocked it and new one would be issued within a week. I was quite surprised and even suspected a fraud at first, but guy hasn’t asked me about any personal information, so no red light. On Tuesday my mother sent me an email with attached scan of document received from GoGrid.

Horror and soap opera don't match

I was really excited when ABC launched Happy Town. I thought that at last there would be horror TV series to follow. I’ve watched first episode and it was not bad. It had mystery, some suspense, town was like from Stephen King’s books, mysterious lady was hot. What else do you need from decent horror? And then in second episode it started to collapse. Focus was set to dilemmas of main characters more than to mystery and thrill.

First fail of Windows 7

I’m using Windows 7 on my desktop for some time now, I’ve upgraded from Vista. Yesterday I’ve shutdown the system normally, without any problems. Today after start and logging into I’ve noticed that wallpaper is changed and then message appeared that I was logged into a temporary profile and have no access to my files. WTF?! I’ve logged off and started my Mac to catch up with few things meanwhile. Log off process was on for about 15 minutes, so I’ve finally gave up and turned off machine then turned it on again.

Netbooks May Offer Hackers Private Data Gateway

This is the title of an article from wired.com, which happens to be my favorite magazine. But this particular article is trash for me. Mainly it’s about how netbooks (like Asus EEE PC) are vulnerable for network attacks, because they’re have no security built-in. Author says that most of such computers have no antivirus installed (but how many notebooks or PCs have?) or users are simply turning them off (antivirus apps), because netbooks have too low performance to handle normal apps and antivirus at the same time (what a bullshit).

Transporter 3

I’ve watched this movie on the weekend. I’m not gonna write about this movie in general, but it’s quite stupid. I want to write about the image of Hungary (especially Budapest) presented in this title. Except car of main character there is no single one which is younger than 20 years. Nice, another typical image of Eastern Europe. They’ll never learn. I was in Budapest this year and may say that there is more luxurious cars than in Boston for instance.

Women should not have driving license!

Today I was driving to work, I stopped before the crossway. Suddenly the car before mine started to driving backward. I’ve started hitting the horn, but the car hit mine. I’ve got out from my car and below is the conversation between me and other driver, the woman. Me: How are you driving?! Woman: I’m not driving, I’m standing still (I know that this is wrong in English). M: So how you have hit my car while you’re standing?
