Amazing

Boston was Silicon Valley in the past

TechCrunch published interesting article about Boston’s Route 128 and why it lost with Silicon Valley, more here. I haven’t heard about it before. If I had then I would definitively tried to see this when I was there. It’s maybe not so surprising as MIT is there, so it’s normal that many of these bright people would want to stay there, but still. Second Silicon Valley, well how would you know:)

New multitouch GUI proposal

Have you ever seen something like it?! Wow! I’m impressed, hope it would find it’s way through market. 10/GUI from C. Miller on Vimeo.

First digital camera

Have you ever seen first digital camera? Here it is: It was developed by Kodak engineer Steve Sasson in December 1975. It was capable of making black/white photos, had 0.01 Megapixel and taking picture took him about 23 seconds. Oh, and it stored your photos on simple magnetic tape, like for Walkman. And now you have a lot better device in your pocket size cell phone, nice.

Tron 2

Tron Legacy TeaserLooks like there would be another movie which I want to watch. Again I wouldn’t rate it basing on trailer, but must say it’s impressive. Hopefully the story would be good as it was in original TRON. Will see.

I'm a fan

From now on I’m adding second name to my list of favorite writers. First is of course Stephen King. And now second is Kurt Vonnegut. I’ve read Slaughterhouse-Five and I was amazed. Now I’m reading Cat’s Cradle and I know that this is it. This guy is talking to me. My language. My type of thinking. Wow! Unfortunately Mr. Vonnegut died in 2007 so he would not give me new masterpieces.

I'm speachless

I’ve seen the last lecture of Randy Pausch “Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”. And only one thing I can say right now is wow. This guy was amazing (was, because unfortunately he died on 26th of July this year, RIP). I wish I had such professor when I was at university doing my MA. He was quite a guy, with power and energy, and he was very good with people I believe.

Science Fiction in USA

I think somebody in US government has lost his mind. The new idea to improve the security in air traffic is to give every passenger Safety Bracelet. It would have built-in GPS (and also a chip with personal information about passenger) and some kind of teaser which would shock him with electricity when he would step out the line. I think it’s crazy and somebody who invented it should be prisoned.
