Localization: Greek alphabet (text)

As I’ve spent quite a time searching for Greek alphabet on Internet which would be usable to my needs (so just list of letter which I can copy to for instance Excel spreadsheet). All the hits directed me to such list, but letters were graphics not normal chars, so no copy as text:( I’ve finally gave up, took the list from Wikipedia(which was a bit messy table), work a bit with regular expressions, and voila:) I have my list of all Greek letters as a text, with tabulators added to be easy copied to separate cells in Excel.

Spoiler Alert: Whiteout

I was waiting to watch this movieand when I’ve finally did, I’m a little disappointed. I wanted to give it 5/10, but I can’t as even though it not completely was what I’ve expected, still I’ve spent nice time with this picture. Maybe it was because of the trailer (find it below) which has this feel of mystery, thrill and surprise. And movie doesn’t have it, at all. I can’t say it’s bad, but it doesn’t have this deep, a catch which would make you really feel it.

Magic Mouse

Today finally, after three weeks of waiting, I’ve received my Magic Mouse. Christmas gift from my lovely wife. I must say that I’m impressed. It takes a while to switch from MacBook’s touch pad, but it’s worth it. It’s pretty accurate, but it’s not surprise as it’s laser based. At last I have a mouse which is wireless, blue-tooth. My previous mice were wireless, but always radio based, so they got often jammed by other media.

Problems with focusing?

As new Mac user I’m reading a lot of stuff about it. And I’ve realized that apps helping you to focus on some subject are becoming more and more popular. Just to name two there are: Concentrateand Think. They have only one purpose to isolate apps you need to work with at the moment and let you concentrate on your work, so you’re not being distracted by incoming mails, IM messages and so on.

Spoiler Alert: Carriers

I’ve watched Carriersyesterday. Basing on a trailer you can think that there are some kind of monsters in this movie. But there aren’t. It’s movie about lethal virus which is killing human kind and a bunch of friends who are trying to find some peace in this really bad situation. Actually it’s good that they didn’t put any monsters in this picture, because it would kill it. Instead we have really nice thriller with some drama.

Sync your Mac with Windows Mobile Phone

As we know main sync software on Mac OS X is ITunes. And you’re probably aware of the fact that smartphones based on Windows Mobile (like my Samsung) are not compatible with this sync method. Have no fear! There is great app called SyncMatewhich will solve all your problems (at least related to syncing). In basic (free) version it syncs calendar and contacts which is really enough for me, but if you’re willing to pay for expert edition you can sync literally everything.

Sons of Anarchy

12 episodes away, it’s time for some reflection. It’s nice to watch adventures of California motor gang. Good actors, fine described characters. Some of them deep, some of them not much. Mrs. Bundy in the role of Club Queen, very good. Jax is a little strange and the actor who is playing this role is trying too much to be tough guy. What sometimes is annoying. Does anybody remember him from Hooligans?

COFEE

Microsoft developed tool which would help government agencies to retrieve data from computers of suspects. However the idea is good, I can’t stop thinking that it would be greatly abused:( More about Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor (COFEE) here. I believe more than to pursue really bad criminals it would be used to fight computer piracy.

UPC is funniest ISP

Today I’ve received a call from my ISP, the lady who was talking with me offered me to change my current plan 15 Mb/s to new one 10Mb/s. She really made my day better. Still laughing when I think of it. Just for the record, of course I’ve declined this “lucrative” offer:)

What do I like in Threadsy

I’ve been invited to test threadsy.comwhich is some kind of aggregation site which combines your mail, Facebook and Twitter (and more) accounts into one data stream. After some troubles with creating my account (it’s still in testing phase, so it can happen) I’ve added my Gmail, Twitter and Facebook accounts into it and begin to play. It’s pretty impressive. Everything is divided into two streams. One on the left called “inbound” consist every message which is posted directly to you.
