I’m happy owner of Motorola Defy Android phone. It’s great, the best phone after IPhone I’ve ever had. I like almost everything in it, but definitely not Motorola Software Update. It’s software for updating phone’s system. I know that there is such option in phone itself, but for unknown reason it can’t connect with update server. So I’ve downloaded special software for my PC to update my phone from it. Usage is simple, launch the app, connect your phone to PC via USB, click next to check for the updates.

On Monday I’ve received a call from my bank with information that my credit card details were stolen by third party, so they’ve blocked it and new one would be issued within a week. I was quite surprised and even suspected a fraud at first, but guy hasn’t asked me about any personal information, so no red light. On Tuesday my mother sent me an email with attached scan of document received from GoGrid.

Finally we have Firefox 4 here, it was delayed several times and I have a feeling that main reason that it was finally released was release of Internet Explorer 9. Why I think so? Because among many advantages new Firefox has few flaws. Let me list them here: When I’m opening a site which has Facebook applet which shows you people who liked it, Firefox is opening this applet also in new tab.

Today I’ve received email from Blizzard saying that they want me back to Azeroth (World of Warcraft): I haven’t been playing WoW for quite time now, and I’ve never was dedicated player, so I wonder if maybe they’re experiencing some shortage of users. Who knows, I wouldn’t find out as I’m not planning to come back, WoW is too much time consuming (and to be honest quests are a little bit boring).

Strange thing with locale on Android. If it’s set to US English it would display date in your calendar widget using US timezone, even if there is correct date set in the system and you’re in European network with automatic update enabled. Switch to UK English helped to solve it, but it’s really weird. Maybe it’s just this particular widget, as when I’ve accessed calendar I was able to see the correct date.

Have you recently noticed that you see less messages on your Facebook wall? It’s because of new filtering which is showing you the post only from people and pages which you’ve interacted most. Rest is filtered out. It could be nice, but actually Facebook rolled it out without any special notification, so I didn’t know about it. Was feeling a little lonely;( Good news is that you can easily turn it off.

Recently I’ve created three add-ons for Firefox. Two of them were submitted for preliminary review and they’ve passed it without problems. One was submitted for full review from the beginning. I was quite surprised when my add-on MovieSearch haven’t passed full review, because (let me quote Mozilla reviewer here): It is unclear to us at this time if your add-on will be useful for a general audience so that it warrants public listing.

Lets call it a week of Firefox add-ons:) I’ve created new one, this time it’s working with my own site (Facebook Text Hoster). Usage is very simple. Select the text you want to post on Facebook, right click and select “Post on Facebook” from context menu. You’ll be navigated to Facebook Text Hoster site where you only need to click Share button. It’s as simple as my previous two add-ons, the only difference is that this time I’m passing the text through encodeURIComponent function.

Since December I was planning to write my own add-on for Firefox. I’m often reading a site where people post movie titles with dots between words instead of space, it was quite annoying to me, however it’s not a big issue. But I also wanted to be able to search for a movie title on my favorite site (filmweb.pl) quicker. Previously I’ve needed to copy the title, navigate to site, paste title in search bar then hit enter.

I’m following Rainn Wilson(more known as Dwight Schrute) on Twitterand today I’ve read this post: I wonder what type of boss he would be (as I live on earth for some time already, I know that not always the one who is funny man is also funny as a boss, sometimes it’s quite opposite).
