You must have Web interface to succeed!

I’ve checked many to-do apps so far, but I still haven’t found the perfect one. The last one I’ve been using was Any.do. And it was close to perfection. It had nice UI, almost flawless functionality and felt nice. As for functionality. Almost everything was alright, but adding items to lists sucked. I’ve had list called shopping, so I’ve clicked plus near it and added the item to it. The obvious consequence to me would be that if I add next item it would be placed in same list.

Psychopaths can be educational, but they're also boring

I’ve read The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success. It appeared as an advert on Scientific Americanand after reading a sample I was really excited and decided to give it a try. So I’ve bought it, read it, and am undecided. I simply can’t tell if it’s good or not. From one side we have great writing, very interesting examples (not only from real life, but also pop culture), and the subject which is extraordinary to say the least.

Parenting makes you soft

I’m a horror movies, and books, fan for like forever. I’ve liked them even when I was small kid. I was scared like hell, but I’ve still wanted to watch them as they’ve had this special magnetism. Then I’ve started to read books and of course fell in love with Stephen King’s writing. This guy could write manual to VCR and I would still read that. After some time I’ve become immune to the fear presented in picture or by letters in the book.

Craig looks like one of Bond's villains

As much as I accept him as an actor, he’s quite alright in few movies, I simply can’t stand Daniel Craigas a Bond. He’s not acceptable for me from the beginning. He just doesn’t match my expectations as to this character. And now I have one more point to support my reluctance. He looks like SPECTRE assassin from From Russia With Love:) Take a look if you don’t believe me.

Windows Update error 0x8024402c

If you’re receiving error 0x8024402c in Windows Update then simply turn off any proxy you have set up in Internet Explorer. On the Internet you’ll find many advices, but it’s as simple as that. Unless you have some other network problems, but you would notice them rather quickly, it’s for sure not working proxy. It really sucks that this browser sets settings for the entire system not only for itself.

Run, Randall? Run! (Deadlight)

After watching 2012 in Gamingon YouTube I’ve wanted to try Deadlight. I usually don’t buy games just like that. I’m first reading some reviews online, then trying to see gameplay on YouTube and if price is right (I’ve never paid “normal” price for the game in my life) I can bought it. This time it was love at the first sight. I’ve just checked the score on GryOnline(Polish games site) and as it was just 5,99€ on Steam, I’ve bought it immediately.

Same thing again, but still alright (Last Man Standing)

Remember Home Improvement? Quite nice family show with Tim Allen. Nothing special, but I’ve enjoyed watching it. It was funny, sometimes educational. All family members were chosen well, so you’ve felt like it’s real thing. Now Tim is back with Last Man Standingwhich is actually the same thing. Few differences, he’s now working in some outdoor store rather than being host of his own TV show, and his children are girls instead of boys (but he still has three kids).

The trickiest part in OpenVPN configuration is Windows7

I was setting up OpenVPNon my VPS today. I was following this tutorialand everything went smoothly until I’ve installed client on my Windows 7 desktop. I got connected, but my Internet traffic wasn’t forwarded through VPN and this was my main goal. So I’ve checked server config and applied few ideas found via Google, no luck. Modified iptables, still no forwarding. Then I’ve checked logs in my client, now I know that I should’ve started there.

Touching moments (embarrassing songs)

Let me start new series of posts, embarrassing songs, with this one. It’s commercial for Macauand I see it almost everyday on BBC. Maybe I’m not musical genius, but as to me this sounds pretty bad.

What I don't like about Smthngs

I’ve tried a lot of online task managers, but each one of them had some flaws. Usually either it was need of special app installation on desktop or that it wasn’t free (biggest issue). So I was really happy when Android Policerecommended Smthngs. Fully online, free and with nice looking app for my phone. What do you need more? It turns out that few things. Below is the list of issues I’ve found in this service.
